McCaughey John, Trillick, formerly of Cavanamara Cottage, 57 Greenan Road, Trillick BT78 3SJ died peacefully at the South-West Acute Hospital on Thursday 2nd February 2023. Beloved husband of the late Kathleen (nee McCauley). Treasured father of John, Barry (Mary), Philomena, Artie, Colleen, Eileen and the late Martin and Maria. Devoted grandfather to his 12 grandchildren. Cherished brother of Clare Gibbling, Frances McCann and the late Moira Gallagher, Magdalene Maguire, Rita Denton, Eileen, Josie, Artie, Kevin and Phyllis Benson. John will be reposing in his late residence from 7pm on Friday 3rd February. Family and close friends welcome. John will leave his late residence at 10.30am on Sunday 5th February for 11am requiem Mass in St. Macartan’s Church, Trillick followed by his burial afterwards in Magheralough cemetery. For those who wish to show a presence along the funeral route, John will travel from the Greenan Road and along Main Street and the Kilskeery Road to arrive at St Macartan’s Church at 10.50am. Frances passed away on the 4th of January 2023.  A widely respected, devoted family lady and much-loved mother, mother in law, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

We, her family wish to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for, and supported us through our recent sad bereavement. 

We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects in any way. Thank you to those who called to the family home, telephoned, sent Mass or sympathy cards, flowers or donations in lieu of flowers and to those who left messages online or via social media.

Our thanks to those who lined the funeral route or who joined us at the Mass. Sincere thanks to our relatives, friends and neighbours who helped in so many ways, to help us grieve as a family.

A special word of thanks to Father Seán McCartan PP for his spiritual support and the comforting Requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan, Altar boy and everyone who assisted with the Mass, especially our musicians Fergal McAloon and Stephen Corrigan who provided the beautiful music.

Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the grave digger Brendan for preparing Frances’s final resting place.

We wish to acknowledge the Doctors and staff of Fintona Medical Centre, Una Cassidy, pharmacist and the community nurses who attended to mum’s medical needs.
