McCaughey, Cormac (Trillick) formerly of Effernan Road, Trillick BT78 3RB died peacefully in Slieve Na Mon Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family on Friday 17th February 2023. Beloved son of the late Thomas and Moira. Treasured brother of Dominic (Carmel), Thomas (Una), Noelle (Sean), Damian (Alice), Fr Shane and the late Siobhan (Tom) and Nuala. House private. Cormac will leave his brother Dominic’s residence, 11 Effernan Road at 5.45pm on Sunday 19th February and will be received in St Macartan’s Church Trillick at 6pm. Cormac’s requiem Mass will take place at 11am on Monday 20th February, followed by his burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. For those who wish to show a presence on the funeral route, Cormac will travel from the Effernan Road and along the Kilskeery Road to arrive at St Macartan’s Church for 6pm. The family of the late Paschal Hughes, would like to express our deep appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for, and supported us through the recent sudden passing of Paschal, our much loved brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend.

We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects in any way. Thank you to those who called at the wake house, telephoned, sent Mass or sympathy cards, and flowers, and to those who left messages via social media.

Thank you to our relatives, friends and neighbours who helped in so many ways. We also thank Paschal’s friends and colleagues from O’Neill Electrics who formed a guard of honour at the church.

A special word of thanks to Father Patrick MacEntee, PP and Father Damian Bresnahan, SMA who concelebrated the Funeral Mass, and to Father Dolan who assisted at the graveside. We convey our appreciation to the Sacristan and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially the readers, and soloist, Phyllis McGuinness and our organist, Alice Hughes who provided the beautiful music.

Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out, and to the grave digger for preparing Paschal’s final resting place. We also thank the St. Patrick’s Hall Ladies Committee for the welcome refreshments after the funeral.

And finally we send our grateful thanks to the doctors and nurses of Altnagelvin Hospital for their care and compassion for Paschal in his short time there.
