McCaughey Moira nee O’Donnell (Trillick) formerly of 9 Effernan Road, Trillick BT78 3RB died peacefully in the Millcroft Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday 10th July 2021. Beloved wife of the late Thomas. Treasured Mother to Dominic (Carmel), Thomas (Una), Noelle (Sean), Damian (Alice), Fr Shane, Cormac and the late Siobhan (Tom) and Nuala. Sister to the late Rosaleen Pike, Celia, Josephine McCaughey and Thomas. Moira’s remains will leave her son Dominic’s residence 11 Effernan Road at 6.45pm on Sunday 11th July and will be received in St Macartan’s Church Trillick at 7pm. Moira’s requiem mass will take place at 12 noon on Monday 12th July followed by her burial in the adjoining cemetery. Barney passed away peacefully on the 25th of May, a widely respected, hard-working, devoted family man and much-loved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend.  We, his family wish to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for and supported us through our recent sad bereavement.  We have been overwhelmed by the sheer volume of mass and sympathy cards, letters and private messages we have received. We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects in any way. Thanks to those who called to the house with provisions, who telephoned, who sent Mass or sympathy cards, who wrote touching letters, sent flowers, left messages on-line or via social media and to those who lined the funeral route or who joined us via the webcam. Sincere thanks to our relatives, friends and especially Ian and Michael who helped out in so many ways, to help us grieve as a family.   

A special word of thanks to Father Kevin Connolly for his spiritual support and the comforting Requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan and everyone who assisted with the Mass, especially our musician Bronagh Broderick who provided the beautiful music.  Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner, in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the grave digger Tommy for preparing Barney’s final resting place.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.

A much loved husband, father, brother, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend. His wife Maggie, daughters; Paula, Denise, Megan, Kirby and Jodie would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to all those who have sympathised and supported them throughout their recent bereavement. Thanks to those who called to the house, who telephoned, who sent messages, cards, flowers, food or gave donations. We would like to acknowledge the support from family, friends, neighbours and local community who have helped us in many ways to aid us to grieve as a family. Also, to those who lined the funeral route, attended the funeral and joined the mass via Parish webcam. A special thanks to Fr Kevin Connolly who visited the house and officiated the funeral, and to Fr Jim Moore for his support and prayers. To Louise McSharry, who provided the beautiful music throughout the service. We are extremely grateful to McAtee Funeral Directors Ltd. Fintona for their dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out, and to the gravedigger who prepared Paul’s final resting place. A special word of thanks to the ambulance men who attended to Paul on the morning of his pass and to the amazing staff in the critical care unit in SWAH that tended him in his final hours.
