Acknowledgement – Teresa (Tessie) Douris, formerly of Aughentaine Road, Fivemiletown. Died 26th February 2024.

The family of the late Tessie Douris would like to express our deep appreciation and thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for, and supported us through our recent sad bereavement. Tessie was a widely respected lady, and a dearly loved wife, mother, mother in law, grandmother, sister, sister in law, aunt, friend and neighbour.

Words cannot express our heartfelt thanks to our extended families, friends, neighbours and the local community who sympathised and helped during this difficult time. We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects in any way. To those who sent Mass and Sympathy cards, letters, flowers and to those who left messages online or via social media. Sincere gratitude is also given to those who attended the wake, lined the funeral route or joined us at the funeral Mass.

We are truly grateful to our very dear friends and neighbours who were involved in providing food and refreshments during the wake, giving their time so generously, and to those who managed the traffic at the house and along the funeral route.

A special word of thanks to Father Brendan Gallagher PP, for his spiritual support and guidance, and conducting the beautiful requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially the readers, and our singer Louise Coyle who provided the beautiful music.

Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the gravedigger for preparing Tessie’s final resting place. Also our thanks, to the Valley Hotel for the very welcome refreshments after the funeral and to Roisin of Nettles & Petals for the lovely floral tributes.

We also send our heartfelt thanks to all the health professionals with whom Tessie came into contact with during her recent illness. We would like to mention the paramedics and A&E staff at the South West Acute Hospital, and especially the staff on Ward 23 Altnagelvin Hospital who cared for Tessie in her final days with the utmost compassion and dignity.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.

Tessie will be forever loved and is sadly missed, may her gentle, generous and kind soul be granted eternal rest. Tessie’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Mary’s Church, Fivemiletown on Sunday 31st March at 11.30am. Our Lady pray for her.
