Acknowledgement.

Shirley Garrity.

Ecclesgrove, Fintona, Co Tyrone.

Died 7th October 2021.

Shirley passed away on the 7th of October, a widely respected, devoted family lady and much-loved sister, sister in law, aunt and friend to many.  We, her family wish to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for and supported us through our recent sad bereavement.  We have been overwhelmed by the sheer volume of mass and sympathy cards and private messages we have received. We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects in any way. Our thanks to those who called to the house, who telephoned, who sent Mass or sympathy cards, floral tributes, left messages online or via social media and to those who lined the funeral route or who joined us at the service or via the webcam. Sincere thanks to our relatives, friends and neighbours who helped out in so many ways, to help us grieve as a family.

A special word of thanks to Father Seán Mulligan for his spiritual support at the house and for the comforting Requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan and everyone who assisted with the Mass, especially our singers Brian Gormley, Cora Lagan and Dearbhla McDonnell who provided the beautiful music.  Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the grave digger Tommy for preparing Shirley’s final resting place.

We extend a sincere thank you to Shirley’s 4 carers and to the doctors and nurses of the Palliative Care Ward Omagh Primary Care Complex for their care and compassion during her time with them.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.

Shirley’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Lawrence’s Church, Fintona on Friday 12th November 2021 at 7.30pm and may also be viewed via the Donacavey Parish Webcam. Our Lady pray for her.
