Died 24th April 2026

We, the family of the late Sean, wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered their condolences, prayers and support during our recent sad bereavement.

Thank you to everyone who attended the wake, brought or sent Mass/Sympathy cards, left messages online and sent personal messages. A sincere thanks to those family members, friends and neighbours who gave so generously of their time and helped out in the kitchen and brought food. A special word of thanks to Conor from the Coach Inn for providing hot food during the wake. Thank you to those who directed traffic and drove shuttle buses, which were kindly provided by Scott and Ewing; this was all greatly appreciated. Thanks to Cathal Armstrong for providing the Marquee and outside seating. We are extremely grateful to   Drumragh Sarsfields GAC for providing their equipment for the wake and for the use of their premises for parking and after the funeral for  the refreshments. We thank  Mairead and Mark McBride for the very welcome refreshments after the funeral.  Thank you also to Judith from Floral Temptations for the beautiful flowers.

Thank you to all who lined the funeral route and  to everyone who joined us in St Mary’s for Dad’s Funeral Mass. A special word of thanks to Monsignor Donnelly, Fr Forbes, Fr McElhennon,  Fr Gallagher and Fr Canning for their spiritual support to the family during the wake and to Fr Canning  for his comforting Requiem Mass and homily. We thank our cousin Donna Taggart and her accompanist Damien for the beautiful music and singing which enriched the Mass so meaningfully and to the sacristan and Eucharistic Ministers. Thanks to the gravediggers Ciaran and Charlie for preparing Dad’s final resting place.

We would also like to express our thanks to McAtee’s Funeral Directors for the exceptional care and professionalism shown throughout the funeral arrangements. Their guidance, dignity and compassion made an incredibly difficult time much easier for us and we are truly grateful.

We send our sincere thanks and deep appreciation to all the health care professionals involved in Dad’s care over the last few years, most notably all the staff at Fintona GP Surgery, Slevin’s Chemist, Lakeland Care team, especially Teresa and Breda, and to all the staff in Ward 1, Ward 8  & the palliative care team of the South West Acute Hospital, who showed such care and compassion for Dad and us during his final days.

During this very difficult time, we have been comforted by the incredible love and kindness from our Mum, Dad’s brothers and sisters, all our extended family, friends and neighbours. This has meant so much to us and will never be forgotten. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude and appreciation. We are indebted to you all.

Dad is loved and missed everyday, may his kind and gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Dad’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, Omagh on Wednesday 27th May at 7.30pm. Our Lady pray for him.
