In Loving Memory – Roisin Sweeney, previously of Clanabogan Road, Omagh. Passed away on 5th May 2024.
We, the family of Roisin Sweeney, wish to extend our deep gratitude and warmest thanks to everyone who offered their condolences, prayers, and support during the time of our profound loss. Roisin was a figure of great respect and the cherished partner of Damian, beloved mother to Alannah and Laney, daughter to Michael and the late Kathleen, adored grandmother to Hailey-Kate, and a dear sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend.
Our hearts are full as we acknowledge the many gestures of sympathy we received. We are grateful for every Mass and sympathy card, floral offering, telephone call, online message, and social media tribute that we have received.
Our thanks are extended to those who visited the wake, provided assistance, supplied food, stood along the funeral route, or were present at the Mass to mourn with us.
We are especially thankful to our family, friends, and neighbours whose support has been invaluable, allowing us to grieve together as a family.
We reserve a special note of gratitude for Father Eugene Hasson P.P., whose spiritual counsel and the comforting Requiem Mass he provided have been pillars of support for us. We extend our gratitude to Fr. Peter McCawill for his role in concelebrating the funeral Mass, and to Fr. Brian O’Kane for his pastoral visits and the spiritual comfort he offered Roisin during her time of illness. We are also grateful to Fr. Kevin McElhennon of Cappagh Parish for administering the last rites with such care.
We are thankful for the dedication of the Sacristans, Ann and Geraldine, and for Mary who has been so helpful in the Parish office. Their contributions have been invaluable. Our thanks also go out to all those who were involved in the Liturgy, especially the readers, for their meaningful participation.
Special thanks are due to Louise Coyle, whose musical talents added a serene and uplifting atmosphere to the service.
Our sincere appreciation goes to McAtee Funeral Directors for their respectful and professional handling of the funeral arrangements, as well as to Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan. We also wish to thank Sheenagh from Bumble Bee Garden for the exquisite floral arrangements.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the healthcare professionals who provided care to Roisin at home and in the hospital, particularly the oncology team at Altnagelvin Hospital and the palliative care team at Omagh Hospital, The Grange Medical Practice and Brookmount Pharmacy who attended to Roisin’s medical needs so diligently.
Understanding that it is not feasible to express our thanks to each individual personally, we ask that you accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our family’s deepest appreciation.
Roisin’s memory is treasured, her absence deeply felt, and we pray that her generous and kind spirit finds peace and eternal rest. We invite you to join us in commemorating Roisin at her month’s mind Mass to be held at the Sacred Heart Church, Omagh, on Friday, June 14th at 7.30 pm.
St Theresa, we ask for your prayers for her.
