Co Tyrone.
Died 28th April 2026.
We, the family of the late Pat, wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered their condolences, prayers and support during our recent sad bereavement. Pat was the devoted husband of the late Mary, adored father of Donna (John), Dermot (Bruce), Mairead (Hugh), Marie-Louise (Nicky), Colm (Laura) and Frances (David). Dearly loved grandfather of James, Christopher, Matthew, Laura, Izzy, Harry, Sarah, Colm and Aine. Much loved brother of Imelda and the late Danny, Bridie and Celine, and a treasured Uncle. He was a friend to many and widely respected by all who knew him.
Thank you to everyone who attended the wake in our home. Sincere thanks to Donna Welsh for preparing the house for the wake, and to all family members and neighbours who gave so generously of their time and helped out in the kitchen. Thank you to those who brought food and helped with parking, this was greatly appreciated. Special thanks to the McMackin family, Dromore, for providing the parking facilities.
Our thanks also to those who brought/sent Mass or Sympathy cards and left messages online or on social media, and to those who sent flowers or donations in lieu. Thank you to all those who lined the funeral route from Pat’s home or who joined us for the Requiem Mass in St Lawrence’s Church, Fintona.
We are blessed to have had the love and support of many friends, neighbours and work colleagues throughout this difficult time, we will be forever grateful.
A special word of thanks to Fr. Sean Mulligan P.P, for his spiritual support and the very comforting Requiem Mass and homily. We convey our appreciation to the Sacristan, Eucharistic Ministers and our musicians Aideen and Junnat who provided the reverent and uplifting music.
Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were organised and carried out, and to the gravedigger Tommy for preparing Pat’s final resting place. Our thanks also to Conor at the Coach Inn for the very welcome refreshments after the funeral.
Finally, we send our sincere thanks and deep appreciation to all the health care professionals with whom Pat came into contact, especially his carers and the District and Respiratory nurses, together with all the medical teams in the South West Acute Hospital. We are very grateful for the kindness and respect shown to him.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our family’s deepest gratitude and appreciation.
Pat is loved and missed everyday, may his kind and gentle soul be granted peace and eternal rest. Pat’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Lawrence’s Church, Fintona on Saturday 30th May at 10am. Our Lady pray for him.
