Died 12th May 2026

We, the family of the late Marie, wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered their condolences, prayers, and support during our recent sad bereavement. Marie was the devoted wife of the late Pat, adored mother of Eileen (Declan), and the late Hugh-Thomas and Brian. The dearly loved grandmother of Ellie, Dillan, and Darcey, and the much-loved sister of Fr. Brian D’arcy, Joan Lunney and the late Gaby D’arcy.

We extend our gratitude to everyone who attended the wake in Grianan House Funeral Home, especially those who brought food, and those who gave so generously of their time to help in the kitchen, and with parking, this was very greatly appreciated. Our thanks also to those who brought/sent Mass or Sympathy cards and left messages of condolence on-line or on social media, and to those who sent flowers. Thank you to all those who lined the funeral route and to those who joined us for the beautiful Requiem Mass in St Lawrence’s Church, especially those who travelled long distances.

We are truly blessed to have had the love and support of our family, many friends and work colleagues throughout this difficult time. This has helped and comforted us in so many ways.

A special word of thanks to Father Seán Mulligan PP for his spiritual care of Marie over the past year. To Father Brian D’arcy and his fellow priests from the Passionist Order and close colleagues for the very comforting requiem Mass. Our thanks to the Sacristan and to all who participated in the Liturgy, especially our readers, Eucharistic ministers, and our singers Sr Marie Cox and the McGirr grandchildren who provided the very reverent and uplifting music.

Thank you to the Staff of the Grann Enniskillen for their support. To McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were organised and carried out, and to the FODC gravedigger’s for preparing Marie’s final resting place. Our appreciation to Tony and staff in Fintona Golf Club for the refreshments following the burial.

Finally, we send our sincere thanks and deep appreciation to all the health care professionals with whom Marie came into contact especially; Dr McGarvey Three Spires, Doctors and Consultants in A&E, the nurses in Ward 1 of the Southwest Acute Hospital, and Nigel and his staff at Fintona Medical Hall.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude and appreciation.

The loss of Marie has left a great void in our lives, and she is loved and missed every day. May her kind, generous and gentle soul be granted peace and eternal rest. Her Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Lawrence’s Church, Fintona on Friday 26th June at 7.30pm. Our Lady pray for her.
