Acknowledgement Kathleen O’Hagan, Omagh, Co Tyrone. Died 13th February 2023.

Kathleen’s husband Eamon, son Ciaran, daughter Clare, son-in-law Noel, grandchildren Eoin, James and Katie, brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends are heartbroken at Kathleen’s untimely death.

We are however greatly consoled by the support, loving care and attention shown to us by all who crossed our paths in the short few weeks of Kathleen’s illness: Drumragh Family Practice, the district nurses who became friends as soon as they entered our lives, the carers who fitted seamlessly into Kathleen’s home and the Marie Curie night nurses whose support for just three nights was invaluable.

We are truly grateful for all the comforting cards and letters received both before and after Kathleen’s death. Kathleen’s life was probably best reflected by the outpouring of support on social media where she bridged the generations, as she had done throughout her life. The anecdotes and tributes shared by past pupils, former colleagues, show jumping friends, Omagh choral society, Drumragh  Parish, GAA acquaintances gave some indication of the rich tapestry that was Kathleen’s life and the impact she made on all whom she met. Sincere thanks to our relatives, friends and neighbours who helped out in so many ways, to help us grieve as a family.

A special word of thanks to Canon John McKenna PE for his beautiful prayers with Kathleen on the morning of her death and the comforting Requiem Mass and to Father Eugene Hasson PP for his spiritual support. We convey our appreciation to everyone who assisted with the Mass, especially our singer Patricia Rogers who provided the beautiful music. We also want to thank everyone who attended the funeral mass and burial.

Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner, in which the funeral arrangements were carried out. Thank you also to Trillick GAA for their guard of honour and to the ladies of Trillick Leisure Centre for the welcome refreshments after the burial.

Kathleen’s deep faith allowed her to accept her illness without complaint and made our final weeks with her a very special and spiritual experience. May her gentle, generous soul be granted eternal rest.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.

Kathleen’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, Omagh on Friday 24th March at 7.30pm. Our Lady pray for her.
