James McAleer,
Omagh, Co Tyrone
Died 22nd June 2026
The family of the late James McAleer wish to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered their condolences, prayers, kindness and support during our recent sad bereavement.
A special word of thanks to the home carers who cared for James at home for two weeks, and to all the staff at Altnagelvin Hospital, South West Acute Hospital (SWAH), The Omagh Diabetic Team, Three Spires Surgery, and Dr Paul McGarvey. James received exceptional care throughout, and the compassion, professionalism and dedication shown by everyone involved went above and beyond to ensure his comfort.
Our sincere thanks to Fr Kevin McElhennon for celebrating a beautiful Requiem Mass, and to Sinéad Taggart for providing the beautiful music. We are especially grateful to McAtee Funeral Directors for their outstanding care and support throughout. Paddy and Vincent guided us through every step of the arrangements with great compassion, professionalism and dignity, for which we will always be thankful. We also extend our thanks to the gravediggers at Killyclogher Cemetery for preparing James’s final resting place.
A sincere thank you to all the Ulsterbus drivers and staff who attended the funeral and formed a guard of honour at the chapel. We are also grateful to Mullaghmore Bakery for their generosity, and to everyone who helped with refreshments during the wake. Special thanks to Mark and Mairead of MMB Catering for their assistance during the wake and for providing the refreshments served in Killyclogher Hall after the funeral service.
We would also like to thank everyone who sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, flowers and food, and all those who travelled long distances to attend the wake and funeral. Your kindness and support have been a great comfort to us during this difficult time.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a sincere expression of our heartfelt gratitude.
James’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 25th July 2026 at Christ the King Chapel, Strathroy, at 7pm.
