Fidelma passed away peacefully at home on Sunday 25th July 2021, a widely respected, devoted family lady and much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister in law, aunt and friend. We, her family wish to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for and supported us through our recent sad bereavement. We have been overwhelmed by the sheer volume of mass and sympathy cards and private messages we have received. We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects in any way. Our thanks to those who called to the house, who telephoned, who sent Mass or sympathy cards, or flowers and to those who left messages online or via social media. Our thanks also those who lined the funeral route or who joined us via the webcam. Sincere thanks to our relatives, friends and neighbours who helped out in so many ways, to help us grieve as a family.
A special word of thanks to Father Patrick MacEntee for his spiritual support and the comforting Requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan and everyone who assisted with the Mass, especially the singer Sinead who provided the beautiful music. Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the grave digger Tommy for preparing Fidelma’s final resting place.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.
Fidelma’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Lawrence’s Church, Fintona on Saturday 28th August 2021 at 10am and may also be viewed via the Donacavey Parish Webcam.
