Acknowledgement
Bernie Reid,
Sixmilecross, Co Tyrone,
Died 11th July 2026.

The recent loss of our much loved Bernie has left a deep void in the lives and hearts of all who knew and loved her. Bernie was widely respected in the local community, but primarily she was a devoted family lady. Beloved wife of Kieran. Adored mother of Joseph (Charlene), Vincent, Mary Catherine (Luke) and Paul. Dearly loved sister of Maggie (Colin), Sadie (Patrick), Kathleen (late Chris), Patrick (late Joan), Hughie (Kitty), and the late Mary, Tina and Thomas and a much loved aunt and friend.

We, her family would like to express our deep appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for, and supported us during our recent sad bereavement. We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects in any way. Thank you to those who sent Mass or sympathy cards, flowers or donations in lieu, and to those who left messages online or via social media.

Thank you to those who called to the wake in Grianan House Funeral Home, and to those who brought food, or gave so generously of their time to help, this was greatly appreciated, and to those who lined the funeral route or who joined us at the requiem Mass.

We are blessed to have had the love and support of our family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues, throughout this difficult time, this has helped us in so many ways to grieve as a family.

A special word of thanks to Father Sean McCartan P.P. for his spiritual support and the very comforting requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially our readers, and our singer Ceallach Reid who provided the beautiful reverent and uplifting music, which added so much to the Funeral service.

Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out, and to the gravedigger Brendan for preparing Bernie’s final resting place. Our thanks also to Roisin of Nettles and Petals for the beautiful floral tributes and to the St Patricks Hall, Fintona, ladies for the most welcome refreshments after the burial.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.

Bernie is forever loved and greatly missed every day. May her gentle, kind and generous soul be granted peace and eternal rest. Her Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Beragh on Sunday 9th August at 11.30am. Our Lady and St. Bernadette pray for her.
