  2. My sincerest condolences to my McKeaney cousins on the passing of John.

My grandmother, Mary McKeaney, was from Emeroo Farm, Coolcran. Her brothers were Patrick, Philip, Andrew and John, and she had a sister, Margaret. Her niece was Margaret “Greta” McKeaney.

When I visited a few years ago, I was blessed to spend time in Coolcran and to meet several of the cousins, including Thomas Campbell (Tomás Mac Cathmhaoil) and others. At that time, John’s health had already begun to decline, and sadly I never had the chance to know him personally. However, I heard nothing but great things about him — a good man, well respected and fondly spoken of.

    May he rest in peace.
Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam.

May the gentle winds over Emeroo carry prayers for him. May the fields of Coolcran and the quiet roads of Tempo hold his memory kindly. And may the blessings of County Fermanagh — its green hills, soft rain, and strong, faithful people — surround you all with comfort and peace in the days ahead.
