The death has occurred of Francis McGirr, Dromore, Co Tyrone and formerly Garvaghey.

McGirr Francis, Dromore, Co Tyrone, lately of 65 Dooish Road, Badoney, Dromore, BT78 3BA, and formerly of Garvaghey. Died peacefully at the South West Acute Hospital on Saturday 5th October 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Rita. Treasured father of Katrina, Michael, Gerard, Fionnuala, Joan and the late Sínead and Paul. Father in law to Gwawr, Gillian, Eamon and Mike. Loving and devoted Grandfather to Hannah, Sioned, Rory, Liam, Niamh, Freya, Gerwyn, Kate, John, Hugh, William and Finola. Cherished brother of Peter, Phyllis, Eileen and the late Fr. Michael, Paddy, Kevin, Charles, Mary and Isabelle.

Francis will be reposing in his late residence from 5pm until 10pm on Sunday 6th October and from 12noon until 9pm on Monday 7th October.

Francis will leave his late residence at 10.20am on Tuesday 8th October for 11am requiem mass in St Davog’s Church, Dromore, followed by his burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please with donations in lieu kindly accepted for Spirit of Paul McGirr and Stroke Unit SWAH c/o McAtee Funeral Directors.

For those who wish to show a presence on the funeral route Francis will travel from the Dooish Road, along Main Street and the Omagh Road to arrive at St Davog’s Church at 10.50am.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife, daughters, sons, sons in law, daughters in law, grandchildren, brother, sisters, nephews, nieces, extended family, friends and kind neighbours. Our Lady pray for him.
