Tommy Hunter, 10 Dooish Road, Dromore, Co. Tyrone, died 15th May 2024.
We the family of the late Tommy Hunter wish to extend our deep gratitude and warmest thanks to everyone who offered their condolences, prayers, and support during the time of our profound loss.
Tommy was widely respected in the community, he was a devoted husband to Myra, beloved father of Paul, Tom, Mark, and Damian, father-in-law of Tina, Michelle, Tracey, and Shauna, an adored grandfather and great-grandfather, and a very dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend.
We would like to acknowledge the many gestures of sympathy we received. We are grateful for every Mass and sympathy card, floral arrangements, (donations in lieu), telephone calls, online messages, and social media tributes that we have received.
Our thanks are extended to those who visited our home, providing constant support, supplied food, stood along the funeral route, or those who even just thought about us and to those who were present at the Mass to grieve with us.
We are especially thankful to our family, friends, and neighbours whose support has been invaluable.
A special word of thanks to Father Denis Dolan P.E. for his spiritual support and the very comforting Requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation also to Patricia the Sacristan and Eucharist Ministers and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially our readers, and our singer Fergal and musicians Stevie and Aine who provided the beautiful uplifting music and song.
A sincere thank you to Pat and Fran of McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in the way the funeral arrangements were carried out so seamlessly, and to Eamon Colton, the gravedigger, for preparing Tommy’s final resting place. Also, to Sheenagh of Bumblebee Gardens for the beautiful floral arrangements, and to the St. Patrick’s Hall ladies for providing the most welcomed refreshments after the burial.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Colm McNabb from Dromore Marquees for very swiftly providing the marquee for the wake, ensuring we had a comfortable space to gather and share countless memories together.
Our sincere thanks also to Dromore St. Dympna’s GFC and to Tummery Athletic FC for providing their guards of honour. Tommy would’ve been bursting with pride.
And finally, we send our sincere thanks and deep appreciation to the health professionals who helped care for Tommy: Dromore Surgery, McDermott’s Pharmacy, the Community Respiratory Team, and the nursing and medical staff in ED and Ward 8 at The South West Acute Hospital, Enniskillen.
We are so very grateful for all your care, help, and assistance.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.
Tommy is loved, missed and remembered every day. May his generous, kind soul be granted peace and eternal rest.
Tommy’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Davog’s Church, Dromore on Saturday 15th June at 7.00pm.
Saint Martin de Porres, pray for him.
