Died 3rd May 2024

We, the family of the late Steven McGuigan, beloved husband of Stephanie and adored father of Conall (Niamh), Clodagh, Cahill and Cuan, devoted grandfather to Fiadh & Saerlaith and cherished son of Hazel and the late Ray wish to express our heartfelt thanks and deep appreciation to all those who sympathised with us following our recent sad bereavement.

We would like to thank all those who attended the wake and funeral and to our good friends, Steven’s manager Sean and work colleagues, neighbours and extended family who brought food, assisted with parking and helped out in anyway during the wake, we are truly grateful. A special thanks to Translink and Tattyreagh self-drive for their assistance with transport to and from the wake. A sincere thank you to all those who sent mass or sympathy cards, letters, flowers, donations in lieu and who left condolences via phone or social media.

A special word of appreciation to Steven’s long time friends, Tommy and Marty and their families who have been so good to Steven over the years and especially during his illness. We would also like to thank those who accompanied and lined the funeral route, especially those on motorbikes and his work colleagues for the guard of honour. We would like to acknowledge and thank the Doctors, nurses and staff at Three Spires Surgery. Thank you also to the staff at the Belfast City Cancer Centre who cared for Steven in recent months with compassion and kindness. A special thanks to the, district nurses, paramedics and Marie Curie staff who visited and helped continue Steven’s care at home.

A special word of thanks also to McAtee’s funeral directors for their dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out; their team done everything to such a high standard and also Brendan the gravedigger who prepared Steven’s final resting place. Thank you to Daire McCarroll for his beautiful singing and music during the funeral. Thank you to Fr McGahan for his special requiem mass. Also thanks to The Bridge Tavern Eskra for providing the refreshments after the funeral.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deep gratitude and appreciation. Steven is sadly missed and will be forever loved. May his kind and gentle soul be granted eternal rest and peace.
Steven’s months mind will be celebrated on Friday 31st May at 7pm in St. Patricks Church, Eskra.
