Sheila McAlinney,
94 Carnalea Road, Seskinore, Co Tyrone.
Died 8th February 2025.
We the family of the late Sheila, are deeply grateful to all those who offered their condolences, prayers and support during our recent sad bereavement.
Sheila was the devoted wife of the late Sean and adored mother of Seamus, Pauline, Anne and the late John. She was the mother-in-law of Marie and Mark, dearly loved grandmother of Claire and Bronagh, sister of James, sister-in-law of Mary, aunt, cousin and friend.
Thank you to everyone who called at Mum’s wake. A special word of thanks to all who helped inside and outside the house and to those who brought food. Our thanks also to those who sent Mass or sympathy cards, messages and flowers. Thank you to those who lined the funeral route or who joined us at the Requiem Mass and burial. We are blessed to have had the love and support of family, friends, neighbours and wider community, throughout this difficult time, which has helped us in so many ways, to grieve as a family.
A special word of thanks to Father Seán Mulligan CC for his spiritual support, for his outstanding help and dedication throughout Mum’s illness and for the very comforting Requiem Mass. We also convey our appreciation to the Sacristan Mary, everyone who took part in the liturgy and musician Louise Coyle who provided beautiful music. We would also like to thank Father Sean McCartan PP for his spiritual support and prayers, and for assisting at Mum’s burial.
Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the gravedigger Brendan for preparing Mum’s final resting place. Thank you also to Roisin of Nettles and Petals for the elegant floral tribute and to the St. Patrick’s Hall Catering Team, who provided the very welcome refreshments after the funeral.
We send our sincere thanks and deep appreciation to all the medical professionals and carers with whom Sheila came into contact, including Fintona Medical Centre, Fintona Medical Hall, South West Acute Hospital and Omagh Rehabilitation Ward.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, the holy sacrament of The Mass will be celebrated as an acknowledgement of our gratitude and appreciation.
Mum is loved and missed every day. Mum said at home shortly before her passing, “I have wings and I’m going to fly”. Fly high now Mum, with the angels of God.
Mum’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Lawrence’s Church, Fintona on Saturday 8th March at 6pm. Our Lady, pray for her.
