Acknowledgement – Mary Ellen McGowan, formerly of Mountstewart Road, Fintona. Died 26th June 2023. Beloved wife of the late Peter McGowan.
Mary Ellen passed away on the 26th June, a dearly loved mother, mother in law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. We her family would like to express our deep appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for, and supported us through our recent sad bereavement.
We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects in any way. Thank you to everyone who called to the wake house, lined the funeral route, those who travelled a distance to join us, and all who attended the funeral Mass.
Sincere thanks to our dear relatives, friends and neighbours who helped us in so many ways and supported our family. Thank you to those who sent Mass or sympathy cards, flowers and to those who left kind messages online.
A special word of thanks to Father Seán Mulligan for attending mum in hospital, his spiritual support in our home and the comforting requiem Mass. Thanks also to Fr Brendan Gallagher for calling to the family home. We convey our appreciation to the Sacristan and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially the readers, and our singer, Louise Coyle, who provided the beautiful music.
Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the gravediggers Tommy and Gary for preparing Mary Ellen’s final resting place. Our thanks also to Alice for arranging the beautiful floral tributes and to the St Patrick’s Hall ladies for the very welcome refreshments after the funeral.
We send our most sincere thanks to all the health professionals in Ward 8 South West Acute Hospital for their tender care and attention to Mum. We also extend our sincere thanks to the nursing and caring staff of Meadow View and The Grann Nursing Home Enniskillen, for the kindness and compassion shown to Mum during her time there.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.
In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. May the eternal light shine upon her. Mum’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Lawrence’s Church, Fintona on Friday 18th August at 7.30pm. Our Lady pray for her.
