Died 11th February 2026

We the family of the late John, wish to extend our deep gratitude and sincere thanks to everyone who offered condolences, prayers and support following our recent bereavement.

John was a devoted family man – the devoted husband of the late Elizabeth, the adored father of Michelle, Sue and Tracey, a cherished granda to Sean, Neil, Aisling, Ella and Páidí and a loved father-in-law to Francis, Hughie and Gareth. He was also a dearly loved brother, uncle and friend

Thank you to all who attended the wake at our Family Home especially those who helped with organising and providing of refreshments. A special word of thanks and appreciation to his three nieces Kate, Diane and Marion and our dear friend Imelda for their hard work and constant support throughout the two days of the wake. We are grateful for the love and support of our extended family, dedicated friends, especially Margaret, supportive neighbours, especially the McDonald and Mc Caughey families, and the wider community circle. Your encouragement and support have helped us greatly at a time when we most needed it.

Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors, especially Pat for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral and all arrangements were carried out.

Thank you to our neighbours, the Fees, who let us use their yard for parking for the wake, and to Campbell Contracts for the use of their shuttle bus and lights for the wake. We are very grateful to the men that managed the traffic and drove the shuttle bus. The kindness and support of our neighbours and local community will not be forgotten. Daddy would have been very grateful for all their help. It was very comforting to meet again Daddy’s work colleagues from Elliotts, Conways and Campbells who came to the house.

Our thanks to those who sent mass cards, sympathy cards, flowers, expressed their condolences with messages on line or via social media.

Thank you to all who joined us for the beautiful requiem Mass in Tempo, especially those who travelled a long way to be with us which was greatly appreciated. A special thanks to Father Raymond for his spiritual guidance, words of comfort and support. Thanks to Angela Reid for the beautiful music and hymns which added so much warmth to the requiem Mass. Thank you to all who participated in the Mass, especially the readers and gift bearers.

Our thanks to Mary Howe for the beautiful flowers and to the Milltown Manor for the refreshments after the funeral.

Finally we would like to thank the wonderful staff of Ann’s Three Rivers Nursing Home for caring for Daddy with such respect and empathy during his time there as well as Kate from The Hospice. We would also like to recognise the support Fr Malachy gave to Daddy and our family during his time at Ann’s Three Rivers Nursing Home. We also appreciate the help of the previous carers who looked after John when he was still living at home especially Liz, Heather and Cara. A special thank you also to Declan, Rachel and the whole team at O’Hagan’s Pharmacy Trillick. We acknowledge the support of Teresa Toye our dedicated social worker who we now consider a family friend.

As a family we will never forget your kindness generosity and unending help.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our Family’s deepest gratitude to all those who supported John and who helped in any way during the wake and funeral.

Daddy was greatly loved by his family and by everyone who knew him, and he will be sadly missed.

May his kind and gentle soul be granted peace and eternal rest.

Daddy’s Month Mind Mass will be in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Tempo on Friday 20th March at 7pm.
