Cathal Smyth, Aberdeen and
formerly Lisnaden, Dromore, Co Tyrone.
Died 1st December 2025.

We, the family of the late Cathal wish to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to everyone who sympathised, prayed for and supported us through our recent sad bereavement. Cathal was the devoted husband of Gail and adored father of Pauline. Dearly loved brother of Marion, Marjorie, Pat, Francis and the late Kevin and a much-loved uncle and friend.

We would like to thank everyone who sent Mass or Sympathy cards, messages, and lined the funeral route or who joined us at the Requiem Mass.

A special word of thanks to Father Denis Dolan PE for his spiritual support and the very comforting Requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially our readers, and musicians Sinead Moncrieff & Ronan Warnock who provided the beautiful reverent and uplifting music.

Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the grave digger Eamon for preparing Cathal’s final resting place. Our thanks also to Sheenagh from Bumblebee Garden for the beautiful floral tributes and to the ladies in St. Patrick’s Hall for the most welcome refreshments after the burial.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.

Cathal is loved and missed every day. May his gentle, kind, generous soul be granted peace and eternal rest. His Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Davogs Church, Dromore on Saturday 31st January at 7pm. Our Lady pray for him.
