Cassie Smyth, Fintona, Co Tyrone.
Died 19th February 2026.

We the family of the late Cassie, would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all those who offered their condolences, prayers and support during our recent sad bereavement.

Cassie was a widely respected lady, the devoted wife of the late George and the adored mother of Mary (late Andy), Thomas (Colette), Shaun (Mary), Marcus (Sylvia), twins Barry (Patricia) and Eugene (Eva) and the late P.G. and baby Elizabeth. Dearly loved grandmother of John, Nicola, Stephen, Kevin, Shauneen, Ami, Wayne, Dylan, Natashia and the late Shane and a much loved great grandmother, sister, sister in law, aunt and friend.

Thank you to everyone who called to the wake in Grianan House Funeral Home, helped or brought food, this was greatly appreciated. Our thanks also to those who sent Mass or Sympathy cards, messages, flowers or donations in lieu. Thank you to those who lined the funeral route or who joined us at the Requiem Mass.

We are blessed to have had the love and support of friends, neighbours and work colleagues, throughout this difficult time, which has helped us in so many ways, to find strength together to grieve as a family.

A special word of thanks to Father Sean Mulligan P.P for his spiritual support and the very comforting Requiem Mass.  We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially our readers and our singer Louise Coyle who provided the beautiful reverent and uplifting music.

Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner, in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the gravedigger Tommy for preparing Cassie’s final resting place. Thank you also Roisin of Nettles and Petals for the lovely floral tribute and to the St. Patrick’s Hall ladies for the very welcome refreshments after the funeral.

And finally we send our sincere thanks and deep appreciation to the staff of Harold McCauley House for the kindness, care and respect shown to Cassie during her time there.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our gratitude and appreciation.

Cassie is loved and missed every day. May her gentle, kind, generous soul be granted peace and eternal rest.  Her Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Lawrence’s Church, on Friday 27th March at 7.30pm.  Our Lady pray for her.
