The relatives of the late Joe McGee (RIP) who passed away on 4th October 2026 wish to express their sincere thanks to those who offered their condolences, prayers and support following Joe’s death.
We would especially like to thank those who made time to attend Joe’s wake and shared important memories, attended Requiem Mass, watched the funeral service online, sent Mass and sympathy cards.
Sincere gratitude to those involved with Joe’s health care in recent months, including the medical and nursing staff at South West Acute Hospital. A special word of thanks to Dr Paul Reilly, Dromore and Trillick GP Surgery, for his care to Joe over many years and to the MDT and community social workers for arranging necessary supports in Joe’s final days at home.
We would like to thank the District Nursing and Marie Curie teams for their care, compassion and support in facilitating Joe’s wish to remain at home and to the carers from Lakeland Community Care and Western Trust Reablement Team, whose practical support maintained Joe’s comfort.
Our thanks to Father Kevin McElhennon for attending Joe’s home to administer the Last Rites and to Father Stephen Baxter, for his beautiful and thoughtful celebration of Joe’s Requiem Mass and burial service. We also appreciate how Joe’s funeral service was significantly enhanced by the contributions of the Sacristan Declan Norris, the bearers of the gifts Malachy Keenan and John McElhill, the Eucharistic Ministers and the beautiful music and singing provided by Marie Campbell and Louise Kirwan.
We are also most grateful to McAtee Funeral Directors for taking care of all the arrangements in an unobtrusive, respectful and meaningful way. Thanks also to Ciaran Maguire and Charlie Quinn for preparing Joe’s final resting place in Drumragh cemetery. Thank you to MMB Catering for providing the refreshments and to Drumragh GAA for the use of the club room.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope that this acknowledgment will be accepted as a token of our appreciation and gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Joe’s Months Mind Mass will take place on Thursday 5th November at 7.30pm in the Sacred Heart Church Omagh.
