Acknowledgement – Seamus Sheridan, formerly of 20 Lammy Drive Omagh, Co Tyrone Died 9th of September 2026.

The family of the late Seamus would like to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who offered us support, sympathy and prayers during our recent sad bereavement. Beloved husband of Alice and adored father of Tony, Pauline, Patrick, Seamus, Mary, Martina, Eamonn, Eilish, Edel, and baby Martin. Dearly loved father-in-law, grandfather and great grandfather and much loved brother of Bridget, Mickey, Pat, Rosaleen, Eugene, Nora, Dermot and the late Maureen and Dessie. Much loved uncle and friend to many.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who visited Seamus in hospital, attended his wake and funeral-especially those who travelled long distances. Sincere thanks to those who offered up prayers for Seamus, sent Mass Cards and Sympathy Cards, brought food, flowers and gifts, and offered their kindness through messages, phone calls and in so many other ways. Your support has meant so much to Alice and all the family.

A special word of thanks to Fr Brian Darcy, your presence brought Seamus great comfort during his final days. Sincere thanks to Fr Peter O’Kane and Fr Kevin McElhennon for visiting us and to the SWAH Hospital Chaplains.

To Dr Motherwell and Drumragh Practice, to the Pharmacist Kevin Kelly, and Brookmount Pharmacy, thank you for the care and support you offered to Seamus over the years. Thank you to all the staff in the SWAH who helped Seamus.

Our sincere thanks to Fr Malachy Gallagher for visiting us and  celebrating Seamus’ Requiem Mass with such warm words, and to everyone who helped make the Mass such a beautiful farewell, including the Sacristan, and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially our Readers, Eucharistic Ministers, and Louise Coyle for the beautiful singing and music that helped make the Mass so meaningful. Heartfelt thank you to Omagh St. Enda’s for their very special Guard of Honour for Seamus.

Thank you to McAtee, Funeral Directors, for their invaluable care and guidance throughout the funeral arrangements. Thankyou to the PSNI who so thoughtfully stopped the traffic to honour Seamus on his final journey.  Special thank you also to the gravediggers who helped prepare Seamus’ final resting place.

Thank you to St Joseph’s Hall for providing the venue for the refreshments, and heartfelt thanks to the family members who were behind this, and so much more.

To Father Patrick McMenamin for visiting the house to say Mass for the family in Seamus’ memory. This means the world to us.

To our extended family, friends, neighbours (in particular those in Lammy who lined the streets to welcome Seamus home and to bid him farewell for the final time), and everyone who supported us in any way, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your kindness and support have been a great comfort to Alice and all of Seamus’ children and family at such a difficult time.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgment will be accepted as a token of our sincere appreciation.

Seamus’ Month’s Mind Mass is on Saturday 17th October in Sacred Heart Omagh, 5.30pm.

May he rest in peace. Our Lady of Knock pray for him.
