Died 31st July 2026

We, the family of the late Packie, wish to extend our deep gratitude and warmest thanks to everyone who offered their condolences, prayers, and support during our recent sad bereavement. Packie, the beloved son of the late Mary Ann and Frank, was an integral part of the local community and was widely respected by all who knew him.

Thank you to everyone who called to the wake in Grianan House Funeral Home, especially those who gave their time so generously to help with serving tea and to those who brought food, this was greatly appreciated. Our thanks also to those who sent Mass or Sympathy cards, expressed their condolences with messages via social media and flowers, and to those who sent donations in lieu for Marie Curie. Thank you to those who lined the funeral route or who joined us for the beautiful Requiem Mass in St Lawrence’s Church in Fintona.

We are so blessed and thankful to have had the love and support of our family, friends and neighbours throughout this difficult time. Your support has helped our family in so many ways to find strength and to celebrate and give thanks for Packie’s life.

A special word of thanks to Father Sean Mulligan PP for his spiritual guidance and support and many visits to Packie, and for celebrating the beautiful requiem Mass. Our thanks also to the Sacristan and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially our readers, gift bearers and our musician Ceallach Reid who provided the beautiful and uplifting music which added so much to the funeral service.

Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the gravedigger Tommy for preparing Packie’s final resting place. Our thanks also to Roisin of Nettles and Petals for the lovely floral tribute and to the St. Patrick’s Hall staff for the very welcome refreshments after the burial.

And finally, we send our sincere thanks and appreciation to all the medical professionals with whom Packie came into contact; especially the carers, Foyle Hospice and Marie Curie who were there for him daily and with whom Packie built many great friendships, along with the doctors and nurses who called with him regularly. We are very grateful for the kindness and respect shown to him, and for the support given to our family.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude to all those who supported Packie during his life and who helped in any way during the wake and funeral.

Packie was greatly loved by his family and by everyone who knew him, and he will be very sadly missed.  May his gentle, kind and generous soul be granted peace and eternal rest. Packie’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Lawrence’s Church, Fintona on Friday 28th August at 7.30pm. Our Lady, pray for him.
