Acknowledgement – Seamus Kelly,
Trillick, Co Tyrone
Died 23rd January 2026.
We, the family of the late Seamus, wish to extend our deep gratitude and warmest thanks to everyone who offered their condolences, prayers, and support during our recent sad bereavement. Seamus was a much respected and integral part of the local community but primarily he was a family man, and was the devoted husband of Margaret. Adored father of Jarlath (Sharon), Mickey (Martina), Noeleen (Aidan), Owen, Carmel (Stephen) and Anthony (Lynda), a dearly loved grandfather and much loved brother, brother in law, uncle and friend.
Thank you to everyone who called to the wake, which was held in his late sister Mamie’s former residence, especially those who helped with organising and providing refreshments and those who helped with parking and the shuttle bus service. Our thanks also to those who sent Mass or Sympathy cards, expressed their condolences with messages online or via social media. Thank you to those who lined the funeral route or who joined us for the beautiful Requiem Mass in St Macartan’s Church in Trillick. We would especially like to acknowledge those who travelled long distances to be with us, this was greatly appreciated.
We are so blessed and thankful to have had the love and support of our family, friends, neighbours and the wider community throughout this difficult time. Your support has helped our family in so many ways to find strength and to celebrate and give thanks for Seamus’s life.
A special word of thanks to Father Padraig MacKenna PP and Canon John McKenna PE for their spiritual guidance and support. Our deep appreciation to them also for the beautiful requiem Mass and to the Sacristan and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially our readers, gift bearers and our musicians Catriona Knox, Gary Curley and the Kelly Family and who provided the beautiful, reverent and uplifting music which added so much to the funeral service. Our thanks also to Francie Sherdian, Catriona Knox and Liam Mc Laughlin for providing Seamus’s special home coming
Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the gravedigger Brendan for preparing Seamus’s final resting place. Our thanks also to Mary Howe Flowers for the lovely floral tribute and to the wonderful ladies of Trillick Leisure Centre for the very welcome refreshments after the funeral.
Finally, we send our sincere thanks and deep appreciation to all the health professionals with whom Seamus came into contact, especially the staff in Ward 5 of the South West Acute Hospital who looked after Seamus with such compassion and kindness in his final days.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude to all those who supported Seamus and who helped in any way during the wake and funeral.
Seamus was greatly loved by his family and by everyone who knew him, and he will be very sadly missed. May his gentle, kind and generous soul be granted peace and eternal rest. Seamus’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Macartan’s Church, Trillick on Saturday 21st of February at 10 am. Our Lady pray for him.
