Aiden McGurren, Longhill Road, Dromore, Co Tyrone.
Died 26th November 2024.
We the family of the late Aiden, would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone who offered their condolences, prayers and support during our recent sad bereavement.
Aiden was a widely respected gentleman, devoted husband of the late Kitty and adored father of Damian, Nuala and the late Adrian. Father in law of Martin and Berenice. Much loved grandfather, great grandfather, brother, brother in law, uncle and friend.
We would like to acknowledge the many gestures of sympathy we received. We are grateful for every Mass and sympathy card, floral tribute or donation on lieu, telephone call, online and social media message.
Our thanks are extended to those who visited our home, brought food, helped, stood along the funeral route, or those who even just thought about us, and to those who joined us at the requiem Mass.
We are blessed to have had the love and support of friends, neighbours and work colleagues throughout this difficult time, which has helped us in so many ways, to grieve as a family.
A special word of thanks to Father Denis Dolan PE for his spiritual support and very comforting Requiem Mass and to Canon John McKenna PE, Father Padraic MacKenna PP, and Father Artie McCann for concelebrating the Mass. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially our readers, our singer Mark McAloon and musicians, who provided the beautiful reverent and uplifting music.
Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the gravedigger Eamon, for preparing Aiden’s final resting place. Thank you also to Sheenagh of Bumble Bee Garden for the lovely floral tributes and to the St. Patrick’s Hall ladies for the very welcome refreshments after the funeral.
And finally, we send our sincere thanks and deep appreciation to all the health professionals with whom Aiden came into contact, especially Dr Paul Reilly, the staff of ward 9, and the Palliative care team of the South West Acute Hospital. We are so very grateful for the kindness shown to Aiden and for all your care, help and assistance.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our gratitude and appreciation.
Aiden is loved and missed every day. May his kind, gentle, generous soul be granted peace and eternal rest. His Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Davog’s Church, Dromore on Saturday 28th December 2024 at 7.00pm. Our Lady pray for him.
