Philomena (Phil) McCarney, 26A Kilnahushogue Road, Lisnacrieve, Fintona.
Died 14th October 2024.

We the family of the late Phil McCarney, would like to express our sincere thanks to all those who offered their condolences, prayers and support during our recent sad bereavement.

Phil was a well-respected lady and was a devoted wife to Pat-Joe and a loving mother to Rosie, Teresa, Una, Martina, Joanne & Paula, much loved grandmother and great grandmother, and a very dear sister, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, aunt and friend to many.

Thank you to our extended family, friends and neighbours for their support and to everyone who called to the wake at Grianan House Funeral Home, helped or brought food, this was greatly appreciated. Our thanks also to those who sent Mass or Sympathy cards, messages, or flowers, lined the funeral route from Phil’s home and to those who joined us at the Requiem Mass, watched online and travelled from afar to be with us.

We have had a number of enquiries from people wishing to make a donation in lieu of flowers, these will be gratefully accepted for Marie Curie and can be sent to McAtee Funeral Directors, Fintona.

We are blessed to have the love and support of family, friends, many neighbours and work colleagues, your support throughout this difficult time has helped us all in so many ways.

We send our sincere thanks and deep appreciation to all the medical professionals and staff in the South West Acute Hospital for their kindness and care shown to Phil.

A special word of thanks to Father Sean Mulligan for visiting Phil in the hospital on several occasions, for his spiritual support and very comforting Requiem Mass.  Thank you to Louise Coyle who provided the beautiful reverent and uplifting music on the day.

Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the professional and dignified manner, in which they carried out the funeral arrangements and to Tommy the gravedigger in preparing Phil’s final resting place.  Our thanks also to the St Patrick’s Hall ladies for the most welcome refreshments after the burial.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our gratitude and appreciation.

Phil was much loved and missed every day by many. May her passionate, kind generous soul be granted peace and eternal rest.  Her Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Lawrence’s Church, Fintona on Friday 15th November at 7.30pm.  Our Lady pray for her.
