Acknowledgement – Peter Martin, formerly of Mountstewart, Fintona, Co Tyrone. Died 26th July 2024.
The late Peter’s wife Mary and his extended family would like to express our deep appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for, and supported us through our recent sad bereavement. Peter was a widely respected gentleman and a dearly loved husband, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend.
We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects in any way. Thank you to those who sent Mass or sympathy cards, flowers and to those who left messages online or via social media.
Thank you to those who called to the wake in Grianan House Funeral Home, brought food, or helped. Thank you to those who lined the funeral route or who joined us at the Mass.
Sincere thanks to all our relatives, friends and neighbours who helped us in so many ways, to grieve as a family.
A special word of thanks to Fathers Aodhán McCrystal SMA and Father Joel for their spiritual support and the very comforting requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation also to Canon Noel McGahan PP for his spiritual support and his visits to the house, and to the Sacristan and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially our readers, and our singer Zara Martin who provided the beautiful, reverent, and uplifting music.
Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional way in which the funeral arrangements were carried out, and to the gravedigger Tommy for preparing Peter’s final resting place. Our thanks also to Roisin of Nettles and Petals for the lovely floral tributes and to the St. Patrick’s Hall Ladies for the very welcome refreshments after the funeral.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.
Peter is forever loved and sadly missed, may his gentle, generous, kind soul be granted peace and eternal rest, his Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Lawrence’s Church, Fintona on Saturday 24th August at 6pm.
Our Lady pray for him.
