McAtee Funeral Directors expand their professional business by acquiring T Hunter and Sons It is in a spirit of hope for the future that Tommy Hunter of T. Hunter & Sons and family hand over the reins to McAtee Funeral Directors of Fintona. Tommy Hunter first began undertaking in 1955 working with O’Reilly’s Undertakers when he was just 19-years-old. A Dromore local, Tommy provided neighbouring families with a caring service, maintaining ever-professional standards but never forgetting the importance of a personal touch at what was always a difficult time for lost/grieving relatives.
As his own family grew, Tommy brought his sons into the business and established T. Hunter & Sons in 1998. Supported always by his wife, Myra, the business continued to serve the parish and indeed local parishes with the same professional, respectful and personal manner instilled in the second generation by Tommy.
In all his years of serving his own community and other local communities, Tommy enjoyed a good working relationship with McAtee Funeral Directors, Fintona. If either family firm needed a contact number or some local knowledge both were just on the other end of the phone for each other. So it is today that T. Hunter& Sons closes one chapter in the history of the local parish and Pat McAtee of McAtee Funeral Directors opens a brand new chapter for the future of Dromore.
