The death has occurred of Christopher Starrs, Fintona, Co Tyrone.

Starrs Christopher, Fintona, Co Tyrone formerly of 89 Edergole Road, Fintona BT78 2NG died peacefully at home, on Thursday 9th September 2021. Beloved husband of Julie. Cherished father to James (Rachel) and Andrew. Treasured brother to Raymond (Janet) and the late Martin (Christine). Christopher will be reposing in his late residence from 12 midday on Monday 13th September. Christopher’s remains will leave his late residence at 10.20am on Wednesday 15th September for 11.00am requiem Mass in St Lawrence’s Church, Fintona followed by his burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. For those who wish to show a presence along the funeral route, Christopher will travel from Edergole Road, along Loughmuck Road, Church Street, Main Street, Tattymoyle Road and Lisdergan Road to arrive at St Lawrence’s Church at 10.55am. In light of the Coronavirus and in the interests of health and safety within the community, the house will be private with social distancing being adhered to at the funeral. Alternatively the funeral Mass can be viewed via the Donacavey Parish webcam. Deeply regretted by his loving wife, sons, daughter in law, brother, sisters in laws, nieces, nephews and entire family circle. Our Lady pray for him.

    I was in St. Joseph’s and St. George’s with starsy he was always a laugh, such a nice guy. RIP ????

  2. So saddened to hear of the passing of Chris I’ve known just short of 50 years .
    Have such fond memories when we where kids going to both St Joseph’s & St George’s , fondly remember the time myself Robbie my brother & Chris made our way down to Boxhill Surrey on a red bus rover ticket costing 36p when we were just 11 great adventure at that age so many great laughs over the years .

  7. So sad to hear of the passing of Chris or “Starsey” as I called him. We were in the same year at St George’s and Starsey was a a great character to be around. If there were shenanigans to be had then he would would not to be far away from the centre of it ( or the cause).
    If there was one song that could sum up our time at school, then it would have to be “Baggy trousers” by Madness. ( it could even have been written for him)
    My condolences to all his family at this very sad time.
    I’m sure there’ll be plenty of shenanigans up above now as Chris will surely be there.

  8. Rest Easy Chris. You were one of my dad’s greatest friends, little did anyone know that years later and without any introduction me and your son Andrew would also become the best of friends. Sincere condolences to Julie, Andrew, James and the rest of the family. Thoughts are with you all.

  9. Very saddened to hear of the passing of Chris. I was page boy at Janet and Ray’s wedding and I remember him at Church of our ladies lisson grove. I also see him around a few times in years after that. My dad was one of the Paddington Stop mob with Chris and others. I look forward to having a drink in the future to celebrate his life.   12. So Sad, often had messages from Chris, usually ribbing me on how bad Arsenal are playing.
    Great days playing football together for the Paddington Stop, always remember his hat-trick from centre back in a 5-4 win, wonderful team mate and Extremely likeable man.
