Donal passed away peacefully on Saturday 7th August 2021, a much-loved brother, brother in law, uncle and friend. We, his family wish to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for and supported us through our recent sad bereavement. We have been overwhelmed by the sheer volume of mass and sympathy cards and private messages we have received. We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects in any way. Our thanks to those who called to the house, who telephoned, who sent Mass or sympathy cards, or flowers and to those who left messages online or via social media. Our thanks also those who lined the funeral route or who joined us via the webcam. Sincere thanks to our relatives, friends and neighbours who helped out in so many ways, to help us grieve as a family.
A special word of thanks to Father Kevin Connolly for his spiritual support and the comforting Requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan and everyone who assisted with the Mass, especially our musician Fergal who provided the beautiful music. Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the grave digger Tommy for preparing Donal’s final resting place.
We are most grateful to all who looked after and cared for Donal during his lifetime. Our thanks especially to all the staff at Care Plus, Fintona Medical Centre and Una Cassidy, for their care and kindness.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.
Donal’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Lawrence’s Church, Fintona on Friday 10th September at 7.30pm and may also be viewed via the Donacavey Parish Webcam.
